In our capacity as conservators of furniture, we often deal with furniture one piece at a time. However, there is also a need to examine groups of objects and to consider condition and preventative maintenance on a larger scale.

  • We are often called on by museums and individuals to survey the condition of their collections as part of grants or larger collection-wide efforts to improve their condition.
  • We work with several collections to provide annual routine maintenance of their in-use objects.
  • We educate museum staff and volunteers on the best practices for working with historic collections storage and display
  • We write specifications for architects and designers to guide craftsmen building historic reproductions of woodwork, finishes, or upholstery for interpretation.
